specifying ".ctp" file in FAST 8.12

Hello,

I see that the coherent events files “.ctp” is specified at the “WindFile” location in the FAST 7. versions. Now, if I specify the “.ctp” file in the InflowWind file in FAST 8.12, it is throwing error saying that its not a “TurbSim binary” (understandably so).

Can someone please let me know how I specify the ctp file in the FAST 8.12?

Dear Surya,

Sorry, but the InflowWind module of FAST v8 does not yet support the use of superimposed coherent turbulent structures from TurbSim. This is one of the few features of FAST v7 that is not yet available in FAST v8, as mentioned in Table 1 of the FAST v8 ReadMe file: wind.nrel.gov/nwtc/docs/README_FAST8.pdf. We simply have not had the resources to port over all functionality and coherent turbulent structures is not something we are currently funded to work on. Of course, FAST is open source and you can adapt the code yourself.
