Onshore lattice structure - wind loads

Dear all,

I have a question regarding wind loads on lattice structures. I am modeling an onshore hybrid tower made of a steel lattice structure and a steel tube on top. I used SubDyn to model the lattice structure.

Is there any way to consider wind loads on the lattice structure ?

Dear Eva,

In FAST v8 and OpenFAST, the aerodynamic loading on the support structure in the AeroDyn module is currently limited to monotowers and the aero-structure coupling for the support structure in the FAST glue code is limited to coupling between AeroDyn and ElastoDyn (not SubDyn). To apply aerodynamic loads on a lattice model in SubDyn will require modifications to the FAST source code (to both the AeroDyn module and the FAST glue code).
