Dear Wind Turbine Modeling Enthusiast,
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will be holding a workshop on the NREL-developed wind turbine computer-aided engineering (CAE) software tools. This one-day workshop is free, with the following venue and date:
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Integrated Biorefinery Research Facility (IBRF), Aspen Rooms A&B
15003 Denver West Parkway
Golden, Colorado 80401 (USA)
March 2, 2012, 9:00 – 17:00
Through US Department of Energy support, NREL has sponsored the development, verification, and validation of various CAE tools for prediction of wind turbine performance, loads, and response. The workshop will focus on the coupled wind turbine aero-hydro-servo-elastic CAE tool FAST with AeroDyn and HydroDyn. The workshop will present the basic theory, structure, capabilities, and future plans of this tool and sample simulations will be run to demonstrate its features.
The agenda, details on travel and accommodation, and a registration form are attached. Overall attendance is limited to 50 and registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in attending should submit their registration form to Beverly Cisneros by February 24. Please forward this invitation to those you think would be interested.
