hello,all
first, i have a question about the material of the tower and blade.can someone provide me the imformation about the material of the tower and blade ?
second, also the yield stress about the tower and blade .
i need those imformation,thanks.
if it’s possiable can someone provide me the imformation about material and yield stress at the tower base, tower top and the blade root.
thanks.
Dear @Li.Kang,
Are you referring to a specific turbine or something generic? Generically, towers are typically made from steel and blades are typically made from composite materials.
Best regards,
about nrel 5-mw wind turbine.
are there any imformation about the yield stress?
thanks
Dear @Li.Kang,
For the NREL 5-MW baseline wind turbine, the yield stress of the blades and tower was never specified in its specification report. But you can assume typical values for steel for the tower. For the blades, you can refer to Brian Resor’s report from Sandia National Laboratories, where the composite properties of the blades where reverse engineered–see: Structural design of the wind turbine blade - #11 by Pravin.Kulkarni.
Best regards,
