Greetings,
I am interested to analyse the effect of sand, dust particles, etc on wind turbine blades. Is there any means of analysis that makes the visualization of blade degradation possible?
Thanks in advance.
With regards,
Akheel.
Dear @Akheel.Mohamed,
What do you mean be āvisualizationā? Are you referring to actual photographs of blades with degradation, the impact of blade degradation on wind turbine power performance and structural loading, or something else?
Best regards,
Greetings Sir,
Thanks for your response.
I referred to analyzing the performance of the wind turbine, through the word āvisulaizationā. I wish to analyze the power performance and load acting on the wind turbines taking blade degradation (due to external factors like dust) into consideration.
Is there any means of analyzing it.
Thanks in advance.
With regards,
Akheel.
Dear @Akheel.Mohamed ,
Engineering tools like FAST/OpenFAST account for blade degradation through the use of different airfoil data (lift and drag versus angle of attack curves), dependent on the degradation (clean, rough, etc.). The different airfoil data must be supplied by the user (i.e., they are input to FAST/OpenFAST, not an output from FAST/OpenFAST).
I hope that helps.
Best regards,
Greetings Sir,
Thanks for your response. I will look into the airfoil parameters needed for executing my required condition.
Thanks again.
With regards,
Akheel.
