Dear Jonson
I hope you are going very well.
Kindely explain me how to estimate the bending moment from your modele by giving references
Dear @Ali.Elyaakoubi,
I’m not sure I really understand your question. What “model” are you referring to?
Best regards,
Dear @Jason.Jonkman
Thank you very much for your reaction
In other terms, how it is estimated the blades root bending moment from 5 MW model
Sincerely yours
Dear @Ali.Elyaakoubi,
I still don’t understand what you are asking. The blade root moments will depend on many things (aerodynamics thrust and torque, gravity, shear, skewed flow, aero-elasticity, etc.). A software such as OpenFAST can be used to predict the blade root moments (and the dynamic response of the entire wind turbine) across different conditions of a wind turbine.
Best regards,
Theoretically, how it is calculated dear Jason, in which method or theory is based. Is based on BEM theory?
Dear @Ali.Elyaakoubi,
The theory basis of OpenFAST has been discussed in many other forum topics, with links to the OpenFAST documentation available here: OpenFAST Documentation — OpenFAST v3.3.0 documentation.
The aerodynamics of OpenFAST include BEM (with many advanced corrections), vortex free wake, and CFD (when coupled to SOWFA or ExaWind).
Best regards,
