Dear Jason
I have three questions.
①What is ADAMSView?
②Even if I set SaveGrphcs to true in ADAMSFile, the .gra file is not generated.
Is there anything else I need to set?
(Fast V7,Analyzed by test14.)
③Where is the natural frequency output?

Dear @Kazuya.Nishiyama,
Here are my answers:
SaveGrphcs
= TRUE does not cause FAST to generate the .gra file, but rather will tell ADAMS to generate the .gra file when the ADAMS simulation is run.FYI: Please note that I have not used ADAMS in many years, so, I doubt I can be much use. I would contact MSC for ADAMS-specific questions.
Best regards,
Dear Jason.
Thank you for your response.
Is there a way to output natural frequencies in FAST-v7?
Dear @Kazuya.Nishiyama,
FAST v7 can expert a linear state-space representation of the turbine, assuming quasi-steady aerodynamics. From the linearized state matrix “A”, you can compute the full-system natural frequencies through an eigenanalysis.
That said, OpenFAST’s linearization capabilties are vastly superior to those of FAST v7, so, I would suggest upgrading to OpenFAST.
Best regards,
Is the process in the order of FAST, MBC, Excel, and then eigenvalue analysis as described in other topics?
We are going with Fast-v7 because we want to use the SEISMIC function.
Dear @Kazuya.Nishiyama,
There are many forum posts that explain the use of FAST v7 + MBC3 + Eigenanalysis for determination of full-system natural frequencies and mode shapes. However, this process is much more convenient in OpenFAST through the Automated Campbell Diagram Code, which automates the process and visualizes the modes: GitHub - OpenFAST/acdc: ACDC: Automated Campbell Diagram Code.
We’ve also discussed how to include Seismic effects in OpenFAST: [Question]How to perform seismic load analysis.
Best regards,
Dear Jason
Thank you for your response.
I should still use openfast.
I still don’t understand the mass, stiffness, damping matrix and the creation of force vectors, so I will study it.
