Look-up table for mooring line

Dear all members, Dear Prof. Jonkman,

I would like to know if there is a way (in FAST v8) to depict a catenary mooring line with a look-up table. To describe my mooring line I have only this kind of file :

X Z HFairlead VFairlead HAnchor VAnchor
335 135 1386.710 167448.47 491.1017 1979.2668
335 140 4928.090 179247.11 1643.7452 1981.7622
335 145 1368.673 179784.33 507.7370 1979.3029
335 150 4730.396 190930.37 1592.5964 1981.6515
335 155 6032.001 195084.14 2100.7142 1982.7506
335 165 6032.001 195084.14 2100.7142 1982.7506
… (and so on)

X represents the horizontal distance between the fairlead and the anchor position (on the ground)(btw anchor position (0,0,0))
Z represents the vertical distance between the fairlead and the anchor position
HFairlead : applied horizontal force due to mooring at the fairlead position
VFairlead : applied vertical force due to mooring at the fairlead position
HAnchor : applied horizontal force due to mooring on the anchor
VAnchor : applied vertical force due to mooring on the anchor

Many thanks,

Best Regards,

PA

Dear Pierre Adrien,

There is no direct way in FAST v8 of reading in/using a look-up table of mooring force-displacement relationships, although you could customize the source code yourself to do so.

Alternatively, it may not be too difficult to calibrate a mooring line in MAP++ to mimic your force-displacement relationships, such that you could apply MAP++ in your FAST analysis.

Best regards,

Dear Prof. Jonkman,

Thank you for your answer. Sure, i will try to build it in MAP++ and make the outputs correspond to my data.

Best regards,

Pierre-Adrien
