How to simulate special events?

Hi, everyone, According to IEC61400 and GL standards, we should calculate the ultimate/fatigue load in special load cases such as: DLC2.1 Normal turbulent wind with control system fault or grid loss. DLC2.2 NTM wind with internal electric fault. DLC2.3 EOG wind with grid loss or other electric fault and so on. I wonder what does grid loss/generator shortcut mean to our simulation settings. Shall I simply deactivate generator torque/lock the pitch during the simulation? And another question…

Making fault

Dear experts. Hello I am trying to make fault affecting blades such as crack, torsion, or bending. I know for continual deformation I can do it changing input files. Now, I wonder if- and how- I am able to make such changes during simulation as an abrupt fault; I think it is possible through changing Subroutine Codes provided in FORTRAN, but, actually, I am not sure, or I think maybe there are some other alternative. Controller for extreme loads simulations

Dear @Jason.Jonkman, I was looking to run few extreme cases like EOG (DLC 2.3 ed4), 2.4 control system fault (DLC 2.3 ed4), DLC 2.1 (DLC 2.3 ed4) as well as Storm DLC like DLC 6.1, 6.2 etc. I was planning to run the simulations for the 5MW_Land_DLL_WTurb config. I need some help in defining the controllers for the same. Is there already controllers for such DLC’c for the specific config If not, how can I create them.
