Hello and thank you for the acception in the forum.
I am currently working at the laboratory of the UTT (France) for my internship and my subject is to discover OpenFAST and provide data and documentation to the researchers.
Is it possible by using TurbSim or maybe I have to use MatLab ?
I found a similar question and answer here:
Is there a way to create a wind ramp up and ramp down (cut-in to cut-out and back from cut-out to cut-in) simulation in OpenFast. If, so, what wind file should be used.
I followed the description and could simulate a wind ramp.
I hope that helps.
Thank you for your answer, I will try it as soon as possible !
I agree with
@Heike.vonWaaden’s response. Use simple user-written uniform wind data files for simulating deterministic wind events and gusts (
WindType = 2 in InflowWind) and use TurbSim for simulating full-field turbulent inflow (
WindType = 3).
Thank you for your fast answer, it’s working very well.
