Hello there,
I used Excel to show the results from Mlife in a chart. That takes too much time for 6 Seeds and differenet sections in the tower. Now i noticed that i did not put the right starting condition data. I used only 12.1 rpm for all speeds and the correct pitch angle from a table you put in this forum, while i forget to use the for and after displacements or the side to side displacement or the roation speed at low speeds.
For this reason i have 2 questions:
- How far can this influence my results?
- Is there any software can plot the results from Mlife files?
Best regards,
Dear @Hussam.Al.Halabi,
I’m not really understanding what you are asking in your first question. Regarding your second question, which MLife output file are you referring to?
Best regards,
Dear @Jason.Jonkman,
My first question is regarding the simulation with OpenFAST for different wind speeds between 3 to 25 m/s.
I am aiming to draw the lifetime DEL at the tower with respect to the wind speed and height.
Best regards,
Dear @Hussam.Al.Halabi,
I’m still not sure I understand your question. I’m also confused in that you mention "lifetime DEL with respect to wind speed. To me, “lifetime DEL” implies consideration of all wind speeds, and so, would not depend on wind speed, although it would depend on the Weibull parameters.
Best regards,
Dear @Jason.Jonkman,
Thank you for your reply. Attached is an example of a chart i produced with Mlife.
Do you mean Mlife calculates one lifetime DEL from all the 22 wind speeds in the operation condition?
Best regards,
Dear @Hussam.Al.Halabi,
MLife can be short-term DELs based only a given simulation and lifetime DELs across all simulations based on a Weibull distribution of wind.
