NuMAD Stiffness and Mass Matrices

Hi,

I am trying to obtain my 6x6 mass and stiffness matrices through NuMAD. NuMAD output is designed for FAST7 I guess and I can only obtain ElastoDyn input files through it. While looking for the interim output files in NuMAD, I find the stiffness matrices. However, non-diagonal terms in these matrices are not zero. Would it be a problem for BeamDyn? Also, how can I obtain mass matrices I could not find any.

Dear Deniz,

I don’t personally have much experience with NuMAD; hopefully someone else on this forum can comment on where to find the mass matrices.

The BeamDyn module of OpenFAST does accept as input full 6x6 mass and stiffness matrices, including nonzero off-diagonal terms.

Thank you for your reply. I think I have found the mass matrices. If anyone need it they are located inside the ‘admout.txt’ interim result file and also stiffness matrices are located inside the ‘kout.txt’ file.

Edit: I was mistaken. It was not the mass matrices file.
