Discussion about yaw control

Hello,everyone!
Now I have a question about yaw control. As we know, the wind direction after rotor will change as rotor rotation, so the measured direction by anemometer is not the wind direction before wind turbine. But the yaw controller of wind turbine controls yaw movement just by wind direction error measured by anemometer. I think, yaw misalignment will cause energy loss. So, is there a good method to compensate the direction measured by anemometer?

Hi Jucy,

Here is one example paper on that subject:

Lidar is a possible way to deal with this issue as well, as it measures wind direction upwind of the rotor.

Thank you for reply. I think, this paper may be helpful for me. But i can’t dowmload it.
Can you send me this paper by Email.
