blade tip speed vs rotational speed

Hi friends,

I was trying to understand the relation between nominal tip speed and nominal rotational speed.

Is it such that nominal tip speed = nominal rotational speed * blade radius?

Thanks in advance for reply!

I’m not sure what you mean by “nominal”, but for a rigid rotor, the tip speed is equal to the rotor speed (in rad/s) times the perpendicular distance from the tip to the axis of rotation (this accounts for precone).
