Campbell Diagram & MBC3 output relation

Dear Tejas,

The CampbellDiagram.xls workbook does not automate the generation of the Campbell diagram. There is no direct link between the “CampbellDiagram” worksheet and the other sheets. Instead, to generate the CampbellDiagram, you should linearize FAST about many different rotor speeds, analyze each rotor speed in a separate worksheet, than manually copy (or link) the natural freqeuncies to the CampbellDiagram worksheet.

Test14 from the FAST Certest was developed as a quite a simple linearization without structural damping, without gravity, without a spinning rotor, and without aerodynamics. You can certainly add these effects through augmentation of the input files. Please see for the FAST User’s Guide for information on how to set up FAST for different operational conditions.

If you are not certain that the initial conditions you’ve set result in a model that is in equilibrium, you should CalcStdy to True to ensure that FAST calculates a proper equilibrium position to linearize about.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,
