All,
You may be interested in a session that I am convening at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in San Francisco, this December. The session is called ‘Weather-Driven renewable Energy’:
Weather-driven renewable energy sources including wind and solar energy are an important part of the power mix in the U.S.A. and internationally. In this session we welcome presentations and posters that address the geophysical science related to these power sources. Presentations could cover any aspect of the development or operation of these energy sources, whether using models or data from measurements, and at any temporal and spatial scale. Subjects might include resource assessment, site design, forecasting over all timescales, field and numerical experiments, and climate variability, amongst others. We encourage contributions from presenters at all career stages, and look forward to papers from industry as well as the academic and research communities.
Details are at http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2012/session-search/single/weather-driven-renewable-energy/
Abstracts are due 8th August.
